So I've been a little delayed in announcing some things that have come about in my life.

I almost don't know where to begin as it's been a whirlwind for awhile.

Anyways, at the end of January I was told that the lady whose been in charge of the children's ministry at our church was going to be going take some much needed and well deserved time off.

And that there was going to be a need for someone to fill in and take her spot temporarily.

Well, I was the first person to come to mind...

so they asked me.

I said yes.

So I'm doing this in addition to my other responsibilities. Teaching 3 times a month, organizing fundraisers and trying to set up monthly activities.

Add to the mix the lady who was supposed to do all the administrative work for the children's ministry is taking the month of April off. (If I learned anything the other day it's that administration is not my gifting haha.)

So I'm also teaching the kids on Wednesday nights. (Were talking about missions this month... I'm expectant. If anything I want the kids to get an understanding of the unreached and how we all have a part to play in the Great Commission.)

Needless to say if I come to mind please pray for me.

Thankfully I have some amazing volunteers and people who help me out, but it's still a lot of responsibility.

To whom much is given much is required, right?

The other day I realized why people in ministry have all sorts of what appear to be random talents.

For example, I'm in the process of designing some merchandise for my church. (Go ahead you can laugh I find it kind of humorous myself.)

I've also helped put up banners in our church windows.

Also I was planning to go to Nepal later this month, but after some preparation and starting to work at the church I was realizing the trip wasn't in the Lord's timing. Yes, I'm sad. I do know that someday I will be going. I just hope soon...

Well, now that I've given you a brief run down of what's going on in my life... what's going on in your life??

Big change is coming soon (regardless if I'm ready or not).

Some big decisions need to be made in the next couple of days/weeks.

[A more detailed update coming soon...]

An Update

Apparently updating my xanga has not been high on my priority list. (Browsing xanga while doing homework is another story.)

I almost don't know where to begin since it's been so long.

This past summer was difficult to say the least. I don't know what made it so challenging, but there were a few bright spots throughout that made it worth it.

I'm taking 15 credits this semester. It hasn't been too bad and I'm enjoying it for the most part. Next week I'm meeting with a transfer advisor and by this time next year I'll be at a state school. I'm definitely looking forward to this change. I've been told it will be more challenging, but I'll be one step closer to being done. (It's so crazy to think about.)

I'm still doing a lot with the children's church. I'm now an official lead teacher. So once a month I'm planning and leading the service along with developing/building a team. This coming Sunday will be my first Sunday doing this. (Previously I was a lead teacher, but wasn't responsible for planning and leading the service. I would just teach the main lesson.) I'm also still planning activities. Sunday afternoon we'll be having a harvest party. I've been heading that up and I'm realizing how thankful I'am for delegation and people willing to help in any way possible. :) Next up will be the Christmas Party...

At the end of the September I headed down to see Abby Allison (now Serio) get married. I got sick the night before and word to the wise if you are congested before flying make sure to take some medicine. Having an intense pressure in your head and ears is nothing I recommend to any one. Anyways, the wedding great. I was so blessed to be able to go. Everytime I get to hang out with TM friends I realize I'm so blessed. I just wish we all lived closer and could life together again...

Then, last weekend was ATF in Madison.(My home ATF.)  It was definitely one of the best ATF's I had been to. Everyone from my church had an amazing time. Something that Mike Guzzardo said that really struck me was just like we prepare for a big test or game is how we need to prepare for eternity (or something like that)...

Wow, it's been awhile huh?

I don't know where to begin.

Life has been busy lately.

School finally ended last week.

This past semester has been the busiest of my life so far.

Church has been busy too.

Watching a few kids before service starts every Sunday. Teaching in children's church (at least) once a month. Planning activities for the kids. Being an unofficial assistant. Considering another area to get involved in once September comes.

Work. Being in charge of the playroom at a Chinese culture/language school. Meeting lots of kids adopted from China, it's great!

Meredith Moore was visiting her brother and sister in law, who live about an hour away, this past week and came to visit me as well. It was truly wonderful!

I'll be spending my summer at Dry Gulch once again. I leave Monday morning and I'm beyond excited!!!

So it's been three months since I last posted. I really didn't mean to make that long. Really. I promise. Life has been a busy blur since coming back home after an incredible summer! (For of those you who don't remember I worked at Camp Dry Gulch this summer. The entire camp looks like an old west town and the Gospel Bill movies were made there.)

Alumni weekend was a couple weekends ago. It was a great weekend! Lots of laughs, late nights, seeing friends, and deeper revelation from the Lord. Many of you were there. Many of you weren't. Those of you who didn't make it were missed.

Well, after getting my pictures developed, getting pictures from friends, etc I'm pleased to finally present some pictures of my summer. Enjoy!

untitled 4  This is just part of the Town Square. (If you grew up with Gospel Bill, like I did, it may look familiar. Almost all the buildings were bunk houses.)

untitled 12 This was my first group of girls. Man, oh, man no words could express this session. It was definitely the hardest. Everything and anything that could go wrong went wrong. I even had to have General (the director of the camp) come talk to them one night before bed. There were a few nights this session where I would go to bed wondering what I had gotten myself into. Even though it was hard I was so glad for this session I learned lots and it broke me in for the rest of the summer.

There were many fun activities that kept us busy day including:

untitled 6 The Survivor. This is my good friend Natalia and one of her girls sitting on top of the slide at the Survivor. (I love this picture!)

untitled 8 The blob! I don't think I ever really got the hang of blobbing kids (some days I was just fine and other days I could hardly stay on it myself).

untitled 9  Wild Rapids! It was an inflatible water slide! So much fun!

untitled 1 This was such a great group. The girl on my shoulders was 7 and a half. (She was was so tiny! She told me one day that when she was a baby she a hole in her heart.) The Lord reminded me of something we heard during orientation one night after praying for her and that was we never know who these kids are going to be. They could be the next Billy Graham. I just had to sit on her and look at my bunk in awe that the Lord was using me to make such an etermal impact in such a short amount of time. And who knows how the Lord is going to use her for His Kingdom.

Marcel and I This is Marcel. My hero. She's only 10 years old, but has been through 20+ surgeries, is constantly in pain, etc all because she's missing an enzyme. She never complained and had such a great attitude.

Around the halfway point of the summer I was so blessed to go see my old roommate Megan Clark get married. (All the details for me going, getting there, etc. worked out in less then a day! Praise the Lord!)

Stranded and Brad Eternally Stranded with the NRA.

It was so funny cause throughout the summer I had been thinking about my 2nd semester Core Advisor Tara and just how much I learned about leadership from her, how some things I did were things she did with our core, etc and during the 4th of July weekend (the same weekend of the wedding) I was thinking I need to call her and tell her all this. Well, as I was getting my food at the reception in walks Tara! Yeah, I about dropped my plate.

Tara and I My (unofficial) mentor in leadership Tara and I.

Shortly after the wedding I got back into the swing of things for the rest of the summer.

As the summer continued on there were some things you just didn't expect to see.

untitled 10 Such as Elizabeth showing off her lost tooth. Her parents work at the camp year round and she was definitely one of the cutest girls ever! She hung out with my bunk one day and she was so much fun!

untitled 11 Or Gospel Ninja. (Ok, so he came to chapel once each session, but still you never knew how the kids on the floor were going to react as he flies over them.)

untitled 2 Miss. Jennifer visiting us in the off bunk.

untitled 13 As the summer drew to a close we wanted to leave with no regrets. The three of us decided to jump in pool during the block party.

untitled 16 Me with curly hair! What?

untitled 14 The games in chapel got a little weirder and messier. The counselor had spaghetti, spaghetti sauce, and water dumped over her.)

Some partners in crime and myself.

untitled 1 (I think it's funny were all wearing our brown staff t-shirt. We didn't plan it haha.)

untitled 7 Having fun at the block party.

untitled 15  The three Texas girls and myself. (Yes, my shirt is backwards on purpose.) For the four of us it was our first summer, we all worked at the same, had off at the same time, etc. So we got to know each other real well.

Then, for the very last session of camp my church came! I had off and so it was great to hang out with some of my favorite people. (And get involved in some of the well known water gun fights between the sponsors from my church and the sponsors from a church in Louisiana.)

untitled 24 These are the two from my church you got to watch out for. Mrs. Heidi and Mrs. Brandie!

untitled 19 My cousin Megan and I hanging out by the go kart track.

untitled 21 My buddy Hunter and I.

untitled 22 Some other buddies of mine and myself.

untitled 20 Riding the banana boat with the sponsors from my church.

untitled 23 Me and my ladel hat.

General and I Oh my goodness I can't believe I almost forgot this picture! This is General and I! He's the Director of Camp Dry Gulch and the best boss ever! Seriously! I had heard all this great stuff about him before arriving and after our first session at orientation I knew I was going to love working for this man. No words can express what a blessing he is and how much I learned from him. "We all live in a glass house. Everything we say and everything we do will be repeated thousands and thousands of times." - General

Well, there's a small taste of my summer for you.

Hopefully it won't be another three months until I update again.
